How HSK Read organizes reading practice
HSK Read is a graded Chinese reading platform that groups public readings by HSK level and reading band. The level indicates the target language difficulty; optional pinyin, translation, audio, vocabulary, and quizzes support comprehension without replacing the reading itself.

Reading bands
- Beginner (HSK 1-2) — Build confidence with clear, everyday Chinese.
- Intermediate (HSK 3-4) — Follow richer stories and useful real-world ideas.
- Advanced (HSK 5-6) — Read between the lines with more nuanced Chinese.
- Expert (HSK 7+) — Meet complex ideas in natural, demanding Chinese.
Limitations
HSK Read level labels are editorial guidance for choosing reading practice. They are not an official HSK exam score or certification. Article difficulty can also vary with topic, grammar, vocabulary, and prior knowledge, so learners should use the support tools and move between levels based on comprehension.
