HSK Read is maintained by hehehai. This policy describes the information HSK Read controls when you use the reading application, create an account, save learning data, or manage profile preferences. For payment, billing, tax, fraud, refund, chargeback, and other Merchant of Record records, Waffo Pancake acts independently under its own privacy policy.

• Account information such as your name, email address, sign-in credentials, and selected learning language.
• Learning information such as reading progress, saved articles, saved vocabulary, quiz attempts, and feedback you submit.
• When you use the audio generator or translation comparison tool, we store a private work in your account. New submissions with identical inputs and generation settings may reuse internal results across accounts instead of calling the speech or AI provider again. Audio files may be stored once and referenced through separate, authenticated user records. Account details, private notes and other users' work identifiers are not copied. Each successful new submission uses the normal allowance, including reused results; retries of the same request do not charge again. On a cache miss, text is sent to StepFun or the AI provider needed for the requested feature. Do not submit passwords or sensitive information. Older private recordings are not automatically added to this cross-account reuse index. Deleting your work removes your access immediately; independently created copies belonging to other users are not deleted. Shared results and files enter cleanup after their last reference is removed. Limited request identifiers and quota settlement records are retained for abuse prevention and reliable processing, rather than restoring used credits when a recording is deleted.
• Account preferences such as your selected article voice and reading font. These settings are stored with your profile so they can be used across signed-in sessions.
• Content created or uploaded by administrators, including reading text, translations, vocabulary, exercises, audio, and cover images.
• Support and communication information when you send feedback, contact us, or report a problem.

When you subscribe, checkout is provided by Waffo Pancake. Waffo acts as the Merchant of Record for the transaction and may process buyer, billing, payment-method, subscription, tax, invoice, refund, and chargeback information. HSK Read does not receive or store your complete card number.

To activate and maintain access, HSK Read receives limited transaction and subscription data, such as your account identifier or email, product, billing cycle, amount, currency, payment status, and subscription period. We use this information to update your Pro status, show subscription history, and remove Pro access when the subscription is no longer entitled.

Waffo's handling of payment and transaction information is described in its Privacy Policy.

HSK Read may collect technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, operating system, timezone, pages viewed, feature use, request time, performance data, and error details. We use essential session cookies to keep accounts signed in. Browser-only preferences, such as reading text size or theme, may be stored locally on your device. Your selected reading font is not treated as a browser-only preference; it is stored in your HSK Read profile.

When configured for the deployment, HSK Read uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and product usage. Google processes that information under its Privacy Policy. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are used only after you accept them; elsewhere you can turn them off by choosing essential cookies only.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If we discover a security incident that requires notice, we will notify affected users and regulators as required by applicable law.

• Deployed HSK Read traffic is served over HTTPS/TLS.
• Passwords and authentication data are handled through Better Auth rather than stored as readable passwords by HSK Read.
• Waffo webhook updates are accepted only after signature verification and are deduplicated before subscription access is changed.
• Payment card data is handled by Waffo Pancake and is not stored on HSK Read servers.

HSK Read does not sell your personal information. We share or receive only the information needed to connect a Waffo transaction with the correct HSK Read account and deliver the purchased service. We may also use hosting, storage, email, authentication, analytics, and infrastructure providers to operate HSK Read. Providers receive only the information needed for their service and must protect it under their applicable terms.

Waffo independently handles its Merchant of Record functions, including payment processing, billing, tax, fraud and compliance checks, refunds, chargebacks, and transaction records. HSK Read remains responsible for product functionality, account access, learning content, and learning data.

• We retain account, learning, preference, and subscription-sync information while it is needed to provide HSK Read, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal or operational requirements. When you delete your account, HSK Read deletes associated application data through its account-deletion process, subject to data that must be retained for legal, security, or transaction purposes.
• Waffo may retain transaction records for as long as necessary for payment, tax, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, and legitimate business purposes. Its retention rules are described in the Waffo Privacy Policy.
• HSK Read, Waffo, and infrastructure providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, cross-border transfers use legally recognized safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

• You may request information about the personal data HSK Read holds about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion where applicable.
• You may request a portable copy of information that you provided to HSK Read where technically feasible.

• You may exercise these rights by contacting support@hskread.com. We may verify your identity before completing a request and will respond within the period required by applicable law.
